Colt has been present in Australia for over 50 years operating primarily via distributors and manufacturing licensees.

In March 2007 Colt decided to invest directly in Australia by entering into a joint venture with a well-established local company to form Colt Tollfab Pty Limited.

Colt acquired full ownership of the joint venture by mutual consent in 2009 and is embarking on a significant re-launch of its activities in Australia.
